Is Pomelo a debit card?

What types of card does Pomelo offer? Is this a prepaid or debit card? Do I load money or deposit money to send money?

Updated over a week ago

The Pomelo Mastercard® is not a debit card, nor a prepaid card. You cannot preload or load money onto Pomelo Mastercard® the way you can with a debit or prepaid card.

When you send money to the Philippines (via services like GCash) using your Pomelo Mastercard®, you pay off the balance later.

Pomelo Mastercard® is a charge card, a type of credit card where the statement balance must be paid in full each month. Balances can't be carried over to the next month, ensuring no interest charges and zero APR. A late fee applies if the balance isn't paid in full. We offer auto-pay to avoid late payments. Pomelo's Mastercard® offers a credit limit of up to $1,000, encouraging responsible spending so you can maintain control over your finances. Applying for the Pomelo Mastercard is similar to applying for other credit cards.

When you send money with Pomelo Mastercard®, you'll get real-time exchange rates, and no money transfer fees. We do not charge (APR) Annual Percentage Rate, or any credit card fees.

Terms and Conditions Apply. Pomelo Account Card Holder Agreement
