Why do I need to put in my SSN?

Since Pomelo is the first to combine credit with money transfer with no transfer fees, providing your SSN allows us to verify your identity and provide you your credit offer.

Your SSN is not stored or read by Pomelo, and only transmitted securely to an identity verification service for our bank partner, Coastal Community Bank, member FDIC, to confirm your identity.

Will giving my SSN harm my credit score?

Viewing your offer does not affect your credit score. For customers who accept their offer from Pomelo, we then perform a hard pull with the credit bureaus to formally open your credit line.

Your sensitive information is not held by Pomelo, it’s encrypted and stored in a VGS vault, which meets the highest security regulatory standard and is monitored 24/7.
